Plain Jane

Plain Jane is the beloved classic "Jane Eyre" re-written in 3,500 words and set in modern day New York. Jane is a homeless street wretch until a local baker, Helen, takes her under her wing and helps her pull her life together. Fate behooves Jane when Helen sends her to the Hamptons to hand-deliver a cake and Jane is hit by a car. In cliche style, extravagant and handsome Edward falls for Jane almost overnight and asks her to marry him. Jane can see a happy life, until Edward's brother in law crashes the wedding and reveals that Edward is already married.
