Acorn is 9. He doesn't remember his parents. He has been raised by the swamp people amongst the gentle creatures, the Whiles. They are unique to each individual they follow. But when disaster occurs and turns the Whiles from docile to mean, Acorn must embark on a journey to discover the cause and save the creatures.
